Yoz Wins and “It’s About Time” 😉
Our very own Anthony “Yoz” Yoswa not only won the coin design of the North Carolina Fernet Competition, but he also won the cocktail competition as well!
Anthony “Yoz” Yoswa worked on his winning design for over a year, a passion project since he’s been a fan of Fernet since when he started bartending in 2015. Originally from Richmond, VA, Yoz started with Dram & Draught Greensboro in March 2020 and now runs point at Dram & Draught Durham. There were 10 submissions in total, Yoz beating out others from Charlotte and other NC locales. Check out the coin in all of its glory!
For the coin design, Yoz received pride and joy and as part of the competition, and for winning the drink competition, will get to attend a larger trade event in Miami next year. Regardless of the competition, Yoz says it was a great way to connect with other bartenders across NC, which has been limited since the 2020 pandemic. “It’s About Time”
Barspoon Ginger Clove Cranberry Sauce
- 0.5-ounce Vanilla Demarara
- 0.5-ounce Falernum
- 1.5 ounce Fernet
- 0.75 ounce Sherry
- 0.5 ounce Lemon Juice
- Served in a Nick and Nora glass with a lemon peel and cranberry garnish
